Vehicle Data

Whereas personnel and visitors are commonly registered for tracking and mustering purposes, there may also be the requirement to register and track vehicles. If personnel do not have RFID card, key fob or other identification on-their-person when entering or exiting grounds or facilities, the ability to track vehicles can be critical data for mustering purposes.

Mustering requires tags, but personnel do not always have tags ‘on their person’ at all times, and in case of real emergency, people more often than not focus on their safety versus accessing their RFID tag; as such, tracking vehicles is a level of redundancy that may be the only data available relative to the people and their locations, based on vehicle tracking data.

Personnel vehicles can be registered within the personnel data view, or a separate personnel vehicle data view, within the SmartTraxx PA personnel accountability software. The vehicles can be tagged with RFID placed on windshield, hung on rearview mirror or otherwise tagged anywhere on the vehicle desired and detectable by RFID antenna(s). By tagging and registering personnel vehicles, entry to facilities and through gates can be expedited and automatically tracked as to time-of-entry and time-of-exit. The software can also be configured to automate the opening of gates for pre-registered personnel vehicles with RFID tags.

Visitor and delivery vehicles can be issued temporary RFID ID tags in addition-to or in lieu-of visitor ID badges. As with personnel vehicle tagging and tracking, the ability to track and muster vehicles can be critical data for first responders in responding to an emergency and identifying the persons that are thought to be on-premises.
