RFID Facility Entrance / Exits

Facility entrance/exit points can be equipped with RFID readers/antennas to passively detect personnel/visitors entering or leaving facilities. Dual antennas are implemented to provide directionality, to detect people both as being at an entrance/exit and determination of the direction of travel.

Tracking personnel and visitors at facility entrance/exit points provides muster data including location = ‘in facility’ and location = ‘out of facility’. Each RFID detection includes the specific entrance/exit utilized by personnel to enter or exit the facility, along with the time/date detected.

Personnel or visitors detected at entrance / exits also supports access control security and the ability to trigger unauthorized entry or exit from facilities. Unauthorized movements trigger lights, alarms and SMS/EMAIL/Software alerts.

Entrance/Exits can be equipped with access control infrastructure to track personnel movements, though generally access control systems require persons to engage with the hardware for PIN #, card or biometrics, whereas with RFID, personnel tracking is passive.

Entrance/exits can also be equipped with video cameras so that RFID and/or access control data can be adjudicated against video footage, based on events and time/date stamps.
