RFID Exterior ‘Grounds’ Zones

Perhaps the most important consideration related to personnel mustering and personnel accountability, is architecture of a solution that passively tracks personnel, versus expecting personnel/visitors to travel to a muster point. Onone exposed to a life-threatening event considers organizational RFID mustering protocols — people flee for their safety.

The optimal and reasonably cost-effective solution for personnel/visitor mustering is tightly encircling facilities with linear RFID detection zones. As personnel flee the facility, personnel are detected as they travel through the RFID zones encircling building(s). RFID exterior grounds zones provide high-accuracy detection of staff departing buildings to parking areas and other outside locations.

RFID exterior zones are complimented by RFID Gate detection zones. RFID exterior zones provide muster data of personnel location = ‘out of building’. Gate RFID zones provide muster data of personnel location = ‘offsite’.

Infrastructure for exterior RFID detection zones can be established by placing readers/antennas on existing buildings, existing light poles or other existing physical infrastructure, or, by erecting RFID mounting ‘poles’. RFID exterior detection zones can be powered by cable and/or solar, and, can communicate through wired, wireless or radio-communications-assisted networks.

RFID exterior detection zones can be augmented by video surveillance systems.
