Intrusion detection systems prevent unauthorized entry to a facilities grounds and premises and assist in preventing disasters that require personnel mustering and first responder intervention.
Intrusion detection is primarily a technology utilized for protecting facilities versus mustering considerations. However, for facilities with advanced concerns or needs for accountability of persons on premises, intrusion detection systems help ensure that no person(s) are on-grounds that are not identified and responded-to.
Intrusion detection systems also identify personnel or any persons that may enter premises or grounds in an unusual or unauthorized manner, such that installed RFID detection technologies are not positioned to identify the person entering facility grounds. Security or other personnel can be dispatched to identify persons-of-interest, to update personnel rosters with personnel location data and/or to respond to security threats.
