SmartTraxx PA blends mature and robust software with advanced tracking technologies to enable tracking of mining workers, assets and vehicles. SmartTraxx software registers all miners, motorized equipment, non-motorized equipment, assets and tools.

Long range active RFID tags with unique identification numbers are placed on personnel and assets and the RFID #’s are paired to the database records of tagged people and objects. RFID readers are placed at gating systems to track miners arriving to the site, at mine entrances to track personnel entering or exiting the mins, and, placed within mines for real-time tracking of personnel and assets.

While working in the mines, if motorized equipment gets too close to miners, alarms/flashing lights are triggered within motorized equipment cabs to prevent collisions. RFID readers keep track of the locations of all miners and assets, with automatic updates to SmartTraxx software at command center.

If workers are injured or there is an emergency, miners can utilize their RFID tag’s duress button to signal the command center that help is needed. If a miner/tag stops moving, an automatic alert transmits to the command center indicating ‘man down’ and ‘help needed’.

In case of disaster or other emergency, SmartTraxx provides complete personnel mustering capabilities, including tracking all miners in mines, out of mines, on grounds or offsite. RFID trackers within mines and muster data enables 1st Responders to identify the workers that need to be found, and long-range mobile RFID scanners enable miners to be located, even behind earth and other debris.
